The naming ceremony welcomes a child and gives them a spiritual name. It is a rich ritual that combines shamanic elements, blessings from the elements and participation from the community.
Preparation
The ceremony leader (steward) undertakes spiritual journeys to discover the child's power animal and spiritual name. Parents receive guidance on the structure of the ritual and may prepare symbolic objects.
