Not all of our members have the opportunity to take part in our public ceremonies. We have therefore created this simplified ceremony that you can hold yourself, indoors or outdoors.
Suitable for the garden, the porch, the yard or out in nature.
Preparations:
Berries (fresh or frozen)
Blackcurrant syrup (or another dark berry juice)
Water
A pot that can withstand a fire
Drum or rhythm instrument (optional)
Simple tools for lighting a small, safe fire (or a camping stove if a fire is not possible)
Blankets or chairs for the participants
Procedure:
Prepare the place – Choose a safe spot for the fire. Tidy up and add elements such as flowers or lanterns to set the mood.
Welcome – Gather everyone, briefly explain the Berry Moon and the intentions (healing, strength, joy, etc.).
Cleansing – Use sage, incense, a sprinkle of water with herbs, or a simple hand gesture for symbolic cleansing.
Opening the circle – Stand in a ring, everyone takes three deep breaths. The ceremony leader declares the space sacred.
Lighting the fire (or camping stove) – Focus on the fire as a symbol of transformation.
Charging the berries – Everyone holds their berries in their hands while sending good intentions. Drumming can support the process.
Boiling the drink – Put the berries, water and blackcurrant syrup into the pot over the fire. Hold a shared moment of silence while it boils.
Drinking – Share it out in small cups. Receive the drink in silence, taste it and sense the symbolism.
Sharing round – Those who wish may share thoughts or feelings.
Closing the circle – Thank the fire, the earth, the berries and one another. Conclude with a shared word or song.
Social time – Enjoy the rest of the berries, chat, play music or drum together.
🌙 Simplified Berry Moon ceremony – INDOORS

Candles or LED lights to represent "the sacred flame"
A chair or cushions in a circle
Procedure:
Prepare the room – Tidy up, set out candles, decorate with berries, leaves or flowers.
Welcome – A brief introduction and a reading of the intentions.
Cleansing – Move a stick of incense around, or use imaginary cleansing (ask everyone to breathe out the old).
Opening the circle – Everyone holds hands or visualises a ring of light surrounding the group.
Lighting the "fire" – Light a candle in the centre to symbolise the flame.
Charging the berries – Participants hold the berries in their hands, infusing them with energy/intentions. Light drumming or silence.
Boiling – Put the berries, water and blackcurrant syrup into the pot. When it boils, focus on the drink as a carrier of energy.
Drinking together – Share it out in small cups, drink in silence for a brief moment.
Shared sharing – An open round for reflections.
Closing the circle – Slowly extinguish the candles, everyone gives thanks to one another and to the intentions.
Social part – Chat, eat the leftover berries or listen to music.
💡 Tips for both versions
If you do not have a drum, you can use clapping, rattles or a mobile app with drum sounds.
If you are alone, you can still hold the entire ceremony — silence and awareness alone are enough.
You can adapt the intentions to whatever feels most relevant on that particular evening.
